President Johnson's Great Society

President Johnson’s Great Society

Today was a life changing day. My parents were out on the new system of social security and medical service called Medicare. This new order will guarantee my parents security and medical needs to them whenever needed. This isn’t just for my parents though; all citizens of the United States that apply for this will be guaranteed this new right. President LBJ and his team are so amazing. This new program will change the lives of Americans forever. Medicare is not the only new installment into our United States government. President Johnson asked and received approval from Congress to create new projects on attacking diseases, conservation, fights against poverty, urban renewal and many more achievements that ill benefit the public of this fine country. Home projects are not the only thing being brained stormed by the government. The President has many ideas on how to increase our explorations and discoveries in space. How amazing it would be if more men and women could be sent into space and return with new information about the galaxy and universe we live in.
Although all of these new achievements and desires are very exciting and would be beneficial to our country, we have bigger problems abroad we need to take care of first. The war against Communism in Vietnam is getting out of control and needs to stop. Too many young boys are leaving their families to go and fight a war that doesn’t have any affect on how the nation is ran. The only logical reasoning behind it in my eyes is that this War would open up new trading opportunities and create new alliances in South Asia. These cravings from the government are not worth  the death of our young boys. The death number increases ever day of the weak. The anti-war chant “Hey, hey LBJ, how many boys have you killed today?” is becoming more and more sung throughout the entire country more and more often. In my dear opinion, the Vietnam War is a waste of time and lives. Our government has amazing intensions and does a stellar job at protecting and running the place we call home, they just sometimes get caught up in events and projects that amount to nothing. We live in a very fascinating and magnificent country, but magnificent and flaunting problems are unescapable and unavoidable by our government.
